Hey everyone! Ok, so today starts my workout/healthy living series! I’m starting it off with a lovely nail art that showcases my I guess you can say refurbished love for kickboxing. When I was younger in high school I earned my brown belt and did kickboxing for quite some time. Then my senior year is when I got my diagnosis and my doctor told me that I can’t kickbox anymore until we see how I’ve reacted to the medication. Well, some months went by and we monitored my health, then he stated I can go back but I can’t spar. Ok, well that was the only way I was going to make it to get the black belt I so badly wanted. That’s when I decided to quit kickboxing completely.
Now that I’ve been doing this program and on top of the workouts that are part of the program I also decided to take up kickboxing. One of my coworkers had told me that she found a Groupon for CKO Kickboxing right around the corner from the office. So I decided you know what, let me try this. These classes are just the cardio and technique part of kickboxing, I don’t have to spar anyone. Well, I gave it a shot and needless to say I picked it right back up on day 1. My Groupon was for 6 classes (or 4 I can’t quite remember). I fell back in love with a sport that I once was really good at. I ended up getting a membership and have been going ever since. I LOVE IT. It feels so good to know I’m not only exercising and doing positive things for my body, but I’m also practicing my techniques of self defense.
I have a funny story about kickboxing from when I was younger. I’ve told this story here before, but for those of you who haven’t heard it you’re about to giggle to yourself a little bit. When I was practicing and training really hard to earn my brown belt my instructor gave me pads to bring home with me so I can practice with my dad. Now, my dad is a pretty big guy. He’s super tall and has been an athlete (on and off) for his whole life. So he suggested the one morning we go outside and I practice a little bit. My dad told me to “give it all I got.” Well, at first I didn’t want to and told him I don’t want to because I have a mean roundhouse. I don’t think he was expecting how strong my kicks were because he didn’t plant himself in the ground too much and yea, I kicked my dad and made him fall over. Yup, I did. I felt so terrible afterwards but said “I told you so.”
Needless to say, when I got back into kickboxing I felt complete. I felt like that little bit of me was still missing and at the same time I’m working out. It’s a win win!
It seems like all anyone is talking about lately is the drama erupting between Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West, and Taylor Swift. The feud has to do with lyrics regarding Swift in one of Kanye's newer songs, "Famous." But if you don't care about any of that, well, you're not the only one. More importantly, amidst the recent drama between the three, a rare thing happened—some Kardashian news actually flew under the radar.
I know. When are they not in the media, right? Well, even if you have no interest in Kardashian-related news, Kim recently wore a pretty innovative outfit that'll certainly pique fashion fans' curiosity.
A report from People pointed out that Kim stepped out of a restaurant in Brentwood, Calif. wearing a salacious T-shirt dress. It's worth noting that before seeing her outfit, that never would have been the appropriate adjective to describe a dress that looks like a slightly refined version of something comfortable to sleep in.
"Turning a tee into a dress, also known as the art of lampshading, is something her two youngest sisters, Kendall and Kylie, have already perfected, regularly sizing up their tops in order to ditch the bottom half," wrote People contributor Emily Kirkpatrick. She went on to say that Kim "took things up a few notches with her own look by adding a belt on top of her long-sleeve Yeezy T-shirt that looks like a hybrid between a harness, a bustier, suspenders, and her much beloved waist trainer."
Suffice it to say, Kim made the T-shirt dress look effortless and sexy with the simple addition of one bustier-like accessory.
Now, T-shirt dresses certainly aren't anything new. If you look through Lyst's site, you can see plenty of different designers presenting their spin on an otherwise plain-Jane style. Y-3 gave theirs an asymmetrical twist while ASOS incorporated bright, bold patterns. Moschino even has one with a blown-up dry cleaning receipt printed on it. They're fun, but none of them showcased their styles in the form-fitted way that Kim K showed off her T-shirt dress.
If you're looking for the same fitted look, grab a solid color variety of whoever's design you prefer (or the one that your budget allows) and perhaps try fitting that trendy sleek bralette you bought a few months back over top of it. If that doesn't fit, or the T-shirt dress material is too thick, you might have to buy a new bralette (Slate is here to help with that) or bustier a size or two bigger to accommodate the extra fabric. Black leather or faux leather looks great with most dark fabrics, while white is better for lighter shades.
You don't have to love the Kardashians, but there's no denying that they're trendsetters. Try this look out for yourself, and see if you don't fall in love with the new, fitted T-shirt dress.

Here's my YouTube tutorial as well talking about these products.
I know I’ve talked about skin care here on the blog before, and I’m pretty sure certain parts of my skin care routine have changed over the years, especially this time around because I’ve introduced an eye cream since I discovered a very tiny crow’s feet forming around my eyes. Sorry for the quality of the video I was in a slight rush and didn’t notice the dogs moved the camera on me AGAIN! Enjoy their music making, they were playing a song for y’all with their doggy toys haha.
So I’ve listed all of the products and what not below. Just to give an update on the Roden andFields. This eye cream is awesome. It goes on so smooth and absorbs into the skin quickly. No burning or itchyness, it’s actually really soothing and refreshing. I made this video about a week before I posted it so I’ve been using this cream for a little bit now. Definitely recommend trying it!
Just a quick disclaimer, I am not an expert, nor do I claim to be, this is just what works for me and what I've been using recently.
Here is my updated skincare routine. I briefly talked about some skincare stuff here on YouTube but this is what I've been doing lately.
Olay Foaming Wash and Toner-can be found at drug stores or Ulta, both oil free since my pores are a little bigger than the average person. I was told by an actual skin care/makeup expert that if you have larger pores it's because you're not using oil free based products.
Nivea-can be found at your grocery store or drug stores
Tony Moly Panda's Dream Eye Base
Tony Moly Face masks

Dress: Zaful // Sunnies: Zaful // Necklace: Zaful // Bracelet: Keep Collective // Birkenstock: Zappos (last year's, but similar here and here)
If you read yesterday’s post I debuted a new swimsuit I got from Zaful. Well today I’m showing off some more items from Zaful. The dress, sunnies, and necklace are all from them. The prices are amazing! I’ve been wearing all of it nonstop. I’ve been wearing the dress as either a cover up or with pants. If I wear it with pants or leggings I can get away with wearing it to work. I’ve been wearing it with a tank underneath, unless it’s being used as a cover up. I’ve gotten so many compliments on all pieces. The necklace is so great because it has so much detail, and it’s truly eye catching.
The great part about this necklace is it can be worn so many different ways. You can wear it with this top/dress, a regular tshirt, or even with a night out dress. I usually put it on to add a little extra fun to my outfits, especially for work. For my work outfits, I spend more time accessorizing than actually planning out the outfit because I’m usually in such a rush. This bib necklace has definitely turned into my go to since I got it!
Now I also wanted to talk about my bracelet from today’s post. It’s from Keep Collective. My designer’s name is Nicole and she’s great! The keeper (aka bracelet) in this particular post is two sided so I can easily switch it over to the other side which is a brown leather. The keys (aka charms) each mean something to me and there are so many more that I wanted to buy! I also got my mom a keeper with keys because I just had to. These are great for friends, moms, moms to be, bridesmaids, brides to be, new homeowners (there’s a house and key charm), and the list goes on! My next bracelet I want to get the camo keeper because I just really love it a lot!
Now let’s move on to the top 3 most clicked bloggers from last week’s linkup, and don’t forget to linkup below!
**Please note, the dress, necklace, and sunglasses were given to me to review, however all opinions are my own. The Keep Collective bracelet was not given to me as a review, I purchased that on my own.
