With Labor Day around the corner I thought this scarf was absolutely fitting.  I love prints to begin with but the fact that they mixed these two prints was pure genius.  

With the above being said I wanted to talk a little bit about how I keep my diet going during holidays or BBQ’s.  First and foremost of course I allow myself to have cheat days because well sometimes you really need to eat something that is so unhealthy for you just to be reminded why you started your healthy lifestyle to begin with.  Here are a few tips.

  • Don’t cheat during the week.  If you cheat during the week then you really can’t cheat during the holiday.  I mean I know that Labor Day falls on a Monday, but let’s be honest you’ll probably overload on your cheat day.  You’ll probably want that extra handful of chips, or you’ll definitely want to eat a burger AND a hotdog.  Well, at least I know I will be.
  • Don’t overdo it.  If you are going to eat a hot dog and a hamburger, don’t go back for seconds for ice cream.  Or instead of eating the chips and dip, just eat the chips.  Ok, well if you really want dip then at least pick up that carrot or piece of celery instead.
  • Drink lots of water.  I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but you will be consuming a lot of sodium meaning you’re body will bloat.  Water seems to help me with this.  That next day bloat is awful so this is something that helps me!
  • If the BBQ involves playing a sport, or swimming, take advantage of this extra moving around!  Who cares if you get all sweaty and gross, you won’t be the only one.  Or why don't you suggest playing something?
