Quick, Easy, on a Budget Skincare Routine

12:00 AM

We all want great skin, am I right?  Whether it’s starting your morning fresh, giving yourself a little pampering treatment 3 times a week, moisturizing (now that I’m almost 30 I see just how important this is), and last but definitely not least cleaning off your makeup.  I know I’ve posted about many skincare products here on the blog, but it’s because I want y’all to have a variety to choose from.  From high end to drugstore products.  I know not everyone is able to splurge on the more expensive skincare, so I wanted to show you a routine with drugstore products that are a little more affordable and can fit your budget.  All of these products can be found at your local Walmart.  Let’s get into the products and the importance of each one.  Trust me, you will want to read this!

This is one of the most important parts of your skincare routine.  I don’t care what kind of a crazy night you had, you should be removing your makeup.  Even if you don’t want to wash your face, please remove your makeup.  You’re clogging your pores while you sleep and I’ve actually woken up with an eye infection before and I’m pretty sure it was because I had left my eye makeup including my fake eyelashes on.  Ever since then I make it a point to remove all of my makeup every night.  Plus, I don’t want to wake up to my face being imprinted on my pillow because that’s just not cute.
Now that you know the importance of making sure to clean off all of your makeup, let me tell you a few things you need to know about SimpleFace Wipes
  • No dyes.
  • No artificial perfumes.
  • No harsh irritants.
  • Added vitamins for natural, healthy-looking skin.
I personally love these because my eyes are really sensitive to face wipes and I usually wear mascara and sometimes liquid liner so I can’t avoid my eyes.  These don’t irritate my eyes and it takes off most of my makeup.  Sometimes I have to go over my eyes a few times, but I also wear a lot of mascara along with good setting spray.

If you’re my age or close to it, you’ve probably noticed that just using soap and water is not going to help you anymore.  I used to use just regular soap and water once my face finally cleared up during high school and I did that basically all throughout college.  Now that I’m older I notice my pores are larger, I have more blackheads and I tend to break out at the slightest stress, or the slightest change in diet.  That’s why washing your face is imperative.

Noxzema has a new clean blemish control formula and is specifically designed for adult skin.  This means you can treat and prevent breakouts without having to compromise your skin’s moisture balance.  I used the original cleansing cream and loved how smooth my skin felt afterwards.  Here’s a little bit about that.
  • Reaches deep down to pores
  • Removes dirt, oil, and makeup.
  • Refreshes with that classic Noxzema tingle
  • Conditions as it cleans
  • Softer and smoother skin

Now that I’m getting older, I’m starting to notice it on my skin.  I’ve noticed small crows feet on both of my eyes, and sometimes my forehead has a crease in it from moving my eyebrows up and down.  I’ve been moisturizing to help with elasticity in my skin.

Now that the colder months are on their way I’m going to be using moisturizer even more.  I have a few that I swear by, but this is a great skin cream that’s affordable.  I love the way this smells and I love that it dries so fast and leaves your skin feeling moisturized.
  • Creamy formula
  • Easily absorbed by the skin
  • Reducing dryness
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Suitable for sensitive skin
  • Won’t clog pores
  • Occlusives-Help to prevent moisture from leaving the skin
  • Humectants-Deeply hydrates to keep moisture within the skin
All in all, I really loved the Pond’s skin cream.  It will be a great moisturizer to keep around for these colder months up ahead.

Exfoliating your skin is so important.  This is because you are exfoliating the dead skin off of your face and getting deep into your pores.  This is something you would do three times a week.  Make sure not to do this every day because if you have sensitive skin this may irritate it.
The Apricot Blemish Control scrub by St. Ive’s is amazing for my breakouts.  It has a deep exfoliation factor which is always a plus in my book.
  • Contains Salicylic Acid to prevent new blackheads and blemishes
  • Deeply cleans pores
  • 100% natural exfoliants (like crushed walnut shell powder)
  • Use 3-4 times a week.
All of these products cost me under $20.  Affordable and great for your skin is always a great combination.  Don’t forget to click here to get these awesome products!
